A Target is a detailed skill within each Program. For example, in the Skill Area of Motor Imitation > Program of Gross Motor > Targets might include Clapping Hands or Tapping Table.
NOTE: Once the Skill Area has been added, there must be at least one Program and one Target.
Jump to Section: [Create Target] [Rename or Delete] [Clone a Target] [Move a Target to Another Program]
Access Skills Acquisition Tab from the Students Section.
Create Target
NOTE: Once a Target is created, it cannot be converted to another Target Type as different Target Types measure different dimensions of a Behavior. Only DTT and Jump-To Targets are interchangeable after creation since they both collect the same type of data.
- Click desire Skill Area.
- Click desired Program.
- Click Create New Target.
- Enter Target Information:
*Denotes Required Field
- *Target Name
- Goal Name (for Reporting)
- SD - Discriminative Stimulus
- Desired Daily Trials - The number of times the Target should run each day.
-
Target Type - There are 13 Target Type options: DTT, Task Analysis, Jump-To, Frequency, Grouped Frequency, Duration, Toileting, Echoic, Quantity, Fluency/Rate, Anecdotal, Whole/Partial Interval, Conditional Discrimination.
NOTE: Additional selections may be needed depending on the Target Type chosen.
- Prompt Schedule - Change the current errorless teaching schedule.
- Mastery Type - Select Automatic Mastery to define mastery criteria and automatically move Targets following their mastery. Or, select Manual Mastery to have the Target included indefinitely until the user manually masters out the Target in Actions.
- Target Instructions - Notes are available for the user on the app during a session. This displays on the same screen as Target information.
- Click Save & Close if done.
- OR, click Save & Add Another if done and to create another Target.
- OR, click Advanced Target Options to enter additional Target information.
- Enter Advance Options:
- Date Opened, Date Baselined, and Date Mastered - Users can manually back-date and modify dates. Depending on the values chosen here, Target will be created in a status other than Ready.
- Custom Prompt Codes - Similar to overriding Prompt Codes at the Student Level, users can override them at the Target level.
- When Target Fails Baseline - Select what happens when a Target fails Baseline.
- Enter Override Mastery Criterion - While Mastery Criterion is defined for the student as a whole on the Setup subtab, users can also override it at each Target.
- Response Percentage - A measure of accuracy. It divides the number of correct responses per day by the total number of trials per day. If that resultant percentage is equal to or greater than this entered value, the criterion is met.
- Consecutive Days– Number of required consecutive days on which ALL specified criteria must be met to achieve mastery.
- First trial must be independent- If set to Yes, the first trial of each consecutive day (as defined by Consecutive Days) MUST be independent. If set to No, only other criteria are used to determine mastery.
- Click Save & Close if done.
-
OR, click Save & Add Another to create another Target.
NOTE: By default, new Targets will not be opened. Target will be in Ready status. In order to collect data on a specific Target on the app, the user MUST open the Target for Baseline or treatment.
Rename or Delete Target
Once a Target has been created, a user can rename or delete it.
- Locate desired Target.
- Right-click on the Target name.
- Select Rename or Delete.
IMPORTANT: Deleting a Target will delete ALL data associated with it.
Clone a Target
Occasionally it may be helpful to clone a Target. When a user clones a Target, it creates an exact copy that can be renamed and edited as needed.
- Locate desired Target.
- Click Actions.
- Select Clone.
NOTE: Cloned Target will have the same name with "_copy" behind it.
Move a Target to Another Program
A Target can be moved from one Program to another. This is especially helpful if a Target is cloned. A cloned Target will automatically display in the Program in which it was created. Use the Move feature to move it to desired/correct Skill Area.
- Locate desired Program.
- Right-click Program Name OR click Actions.
- Select Move.
- All available Programs will display.
- Locate the desired Program the Target should be moved to and click Move.
- Target will now be located in the new Program.
